Question Building the ultimate Warriors Armor

Hi i currently do farming runs, and while they are ok, i've seen some ppl get hardly any damage from attacks, whereas i myself get hits in the 20s, mostly relying on bonettis defence and gladiators defence for farming.
So far its gone good.

But i'm just wondering, what would be the best armor setup for a warrior doing only meele creature farming?

Currently i use full Knights armor, with:
minor tactics
minor strength
minor axe
minor absorption
minor vigor

I'd like to change it now have i have 50K of gold.

Bascailly i've heard rumors of the effect not stacking etc, and that its best to use platemail and knight armor combination.

So what is the best combination to use then?

Also whats the difference between wvryern and platemail armor? they both have the same stats

Thanks.

If u want a bit of more longevity, switch to superior vigor and absortion.

If cant afford it, switch to majors.

there isnt one best combination. it all depends upon each area you are visiting to farm/quest/etc.

Well the area doesn't matter, because i'm only farming with this character and the only creatures are meele damaging creatures, hence i won't need any elemental defence armor.

Any suggestions?

Full Knights except for a plate helmet, best absorbtion you have/can afford.
The reason I say plate helmet is because, if I recall correctly, damage to the head is a critical hit and the plate's extra armor should reduce that massive damage better than the absorbtion of Knights.

The effect of Knight's and Ascalon absorption doesn't stack. Just having one piece gives a -2 damage reduction regardless of where you are struck.

If you're fighting all melee, go with Gladiator's. Basically each piece will be 100 AL since it is 80 +20 vs physical. Superior absorption/vigor naturally if you can afford them. If you're soloing all melee, I would highly recommend stances such as Bonetti's Defense and Gladiator's Defense. There is a collector outside of Rankors with a shield that has +45 health and -2 damage while in stance which is also very nice should you choose to use stances. Watch Yourself and Dolyak Signet will provide another 30+ AL, a +7 vs. physical upgrade and you're all set.

I currently run similar to that except full Wyvern's and Ascalon Helm. The Griffins outside of Augury hit for next to nothing.

YOU NEED gladiator not knights
Knights good agaisnt spell casters 85 10% vs melee
Gladiator good agaisnt melee 80 20% vs melee
If you fighting melee, use superior tatics and strength runes so you can stay in your defensive stances longer, 150 health drop isnt too bad when you dont get hit for 5 seconds longer.

"YOU NEED gladiator not knights"

"Full Knights except for a plate helmet"

umm, still confusion here. Three different opinions, three different options.
Any other suggestions?
I've never seen anyone use gladiators in runs, so.... =/

I'm still confused here.

If you want to be the ultimate tank, here's what I'd do:

Dragon Helm (85 AL, +10 vs. physical) - Some Elementalist spells, like Firestorm, will automatically hit the head, so it makes sense to have the highest elemental protection on your head. In addition, only 12.5% of attacks will hit your head, so the loss of 5AL vs. physical isn't a big deal.

Dragon Hauberk (85 AL, +10 vs. physical) or Gladiator Hauberk (80AL, +20 vs. physical) - Some Elementalist spells, like Air nukes, will automatically hit the chest, so it makes sense to have the highest elementalist protection on your chest. However, 37.5% of attacks will hit the chest, so if you fear physical damage, the extra 5 AL vs. physical of a Gladiator's set might be useful. Plus, +3 energy never hurts.

Gladiator's Leggings (80 AL, +20 vs. physical) - There is nothing that automatically hits the legs. 25% of attacks will hit the legs, so it's good to have good physical protection on the legs. +2 Energy is always good.

The hands and feet are identical. 12.5% of attacks will hit the hands and 12.5% will hit the feet. You only need one piece of Knight's armor to get the full effect. I'd put one piece of Gladiator's (80 AL, +20 vs. physical) and one piece of Knight's (80 AL, +10 vs. physical, Reduces damage from attacks) here. Whichever one goes where will depend on which you think looks the coolest.

In addition, you'd want Superior Vigor and Superior Absorbtion runes. Get a shield with 16 AL, +45 Health, and -2 damage taken (whether you want the one that works in a stance, when enchanted, or when hexed, depends on your build).
